Aiguilles Marbrees Traverse

The Aiguilles Marbrées is a series of rock spires on the Italian side of the border, located near the Point Helbronner cable car (3462m), accessible via the Sky Way cable car in the Val d’Aosta, Italy, and the Torino Hut. They are easily accessed and provide an enjoyable mix of climbing, scrambling, and glacier travel. No wonder it is a popular destination!

There are multiple route options depending on which end of the ridge you begin the journey, but ideally, traversing from East to the South ridge is the preferred itinerary.

The Traverse of the Aiguilles Marbrées is equally enjoyable in winter conditions with snow, serving as an excellent training climb when crampons are required for most of the rock sections. It is a wonderful Alpine outing that can be climbed when many other local objectives are not “in” condition.

Moderately challenging and predominantly rock-focused, the climb typically entails an hour for the approach, with the climb itself lasting between 2-4 hours.
