AUGUILLES DE L'INDEX

The Aiguille de l'Index stands as a prominent rock summit in the Aiguilles Rouges. While various routes traverse this peak, the Southeast Arête stands out as the most popular and exceptional. Its allure lies in its strategic position and breathtaking views. Facing south, the entire Mont Blanc chain unfolds just behind you, creating a captivating backdrop of spires and glaciers.

This moderately challenging route involves rock climbing up to about 5.7 (French 5a) at its toughest. With approximately 6 or 7 pitches, it offers a great option for a relatively relaxed day in the mountains.

The Index is conveniently located, requiring only a 30-minute walk from the top of the Flagere lift to reach the route's base.
