Frendo Spur

The Frendo Spur on the Aiguille du Midi is undoubtedly one of the most captivating and observed challenging routes in the Alps. It draws the gaze of not only climbers, but also the thousands of tourists who embark on the Aiguille du Midi cable car journey each day.

Generally a rock route at altitude, the upper pitches of 50 degree alpine ice, often present the mental crux for many suitors.

The approach from the cable car station at the Plan des Aiguilles is surprisingly quick, especially considering the size of the wall and the imposing nature of the north face.
