MATTERHORN 4478m
The Hörnligrat is most visited and technically the “easiest” route up the Matterhorn.
With headlamps on and a 430am climbing start-time, complicated and demanding route finding and a technical 1200m ascent and a 1200m decent, the summit day is not to be taken lightly.
The Matterhorn requires maximum concentration from the first to the last step. Both the ascent and the descent take equal amounts of time, and given that every part of the route has to be secured using the “short rope” method, it is a summit that requires skill and resilience to succeed.
That being said, with proper training and good acclimatization, a summit is very often attainable.
The Ascent of the Matterhorn is accomplished with 1x night at the Hornlihutte and 1x day on the Mountain.
Depending on your experience and mountain conditions, I offer training and summit programs from 2 - 7 days via the Hörnligrat Route.
Please reach out and let me customize a trip to one of the most “famous” peaks in the world.
